📚 How to Play - Game Mechanics

🎯 Your Mission

You are a public health leader managing an outbreak. Select intervention strategies (NPIs) to balance competing priorities while managing limited resources.

💡 NPI Selection Tips:

  • Consider your region's characteristics - what works in one area may fail in another
  • Watch your budget - once exhausted, only free alternatives available
  • Balance all 5 scores - no single metric should be ignored
  • Every choice has trade-offs - there are no perfect solutions

📊 Understanding Scores:

  • Health ❤️ - Disease control effectiveness
  • Economy 📈 - Economic impact management
  • Trust 👥 - Public confidence in leadership
  • Resources 🔧 - Infrastructure & capacity building
  • Equity ⚖️ - Fair distribution of burdens/benefits

💰 Budget Management:

Each region has different starting budgets. When your budget runs out, you can only select free community-based alternatives that are less effective but don't cost money. Manage your resources wisely!
